Caption: Life Membership - Wing Wong, 78, of 4928 51st St., received a lifetime membership Wednesday in the Central Alberta Pioneer and Oldtimers Association. A contractor here for many years, Mr. Wong also operated a general store in Haynes and still owns a farm in that area, besides real estate in Red Deer. One of the original citizens involved in the construction of the Pioneer Lodge, he describes construction of the lodge to former mayor Ed Barrett, right. Walter Code, 4926 55 St., summed p the general feeling when he said, "He is a kind and generous citizen." When Mr. Wong came to Canada, he married a Canadian girl, Neisje. One son, Stanley, now operates the family farm in the Haynes area. A son, Ronald, is an engineer in Calgary. A daughter, Rella, lives west of Airdrie on an acreage, married to David Tindal, an electrician.
